Jason Yeager presents "Unstuck in Time: The Kurt Vonnegut Suite"
In the 1940s, Kurt Vonnegut's grandfather and Jason Yeager's great-grandfather merged their respective Indiana architectural firms. While the firm of Vonnegut, Wright and Yeager is no longer with us, the masterful storytelling, social criticism, and dark humor of Kurt Vonnegut most certainly is.
In his premiere Jazz @the cell, NYC-based pianist/composer and Inner Circle Music recording artist Jason Yeager presents a new set of compositions inspired by characters from many of Vonnegut's most beloved novels--including tunes for leading roles in Slaughterhouse Five, Sirens of Titan, Cat's Cradle, and more.
Joining Yeager is an all-star band of some of New York's top up-and-coming jazz and improvised music artists. Each of these musicians is a bandleader-composer in his own right, and contributes a unique musical voice to this dynamic ensemble.
“Comedians and jazz musicians have been more comforting and enlightening to me than preachers or politicians or philosophers or poets or painters or novelists of my time. Historians in the future, in my opinion, will congratulate us on very little other than our clowning and our jazz.” -Kurt Vonnegut.
