@the cell, 338 w 23rd St, (between 8th & 9th Aves)

Sybarite5 celebrates the end of its fall 2013 tour with a world premiere at the cell, as part of its annual residency there. The group premieres a string quintet version ofYann’s Flight  by Shawn Conley on the highly anticipated follow-up to Sybarite5’scell residency concert in October. Also set for the show are works by Radiohead, Mozart, Piazzolla, Visconti, & Komitas

Winner of the Concert Artists Guild Competition, Sybarite5's concerts have mesmerized audiences at NYC venues including Carnegie Hall, the Apple Store, Lincoln Center, and the cell.  Sybarite5 is comprised of superbly trained classical musicians: Sami Merdinian and Sarah Whitney, violins; Angela Pickett, viola; Laura Metcalf, cello; and Louis Levitt, bass. The players united with the goal of changing the perception of chamber music performance and have achieved it. As Sybarite5, they take their audience on an exciting ride with an eclectic blend of works and a dynamic, intensely personal performance style.
