Theater for a New City presents the cell's AN AMERICAN FAMILY TAKES A LOVER by Amina Henry. Originally incubated at the cell, a 21st Century Salon. Founding Artistic Director of the cell, Nancy Manocherian. Director, Kira Simring.
AN AMERICAN FAMILY TAKES A LOVER is a dark, dark comedy. In this very American tale, Richard David and Lady Anne and their other person, Justine, are a family. But the arrival of handyman Thomas to fix a hole threatens to tear their family apart.
AN AMERICAN FAMILY TAKES A LOVER was given a staged reading as part of The Hive Exposed Series in 2010. It was subsequently incubated and workshopped by The Hive Theater and the cell: a 21st century salon.
