Wednesday, Oct. 27th
Special guests Lawrence Winters and Andrew Roberts will join us for a post-show discussion. Winters, a veteran, author and poet, works at Four Winds Hospital as the Coordinator of Veteran Treatment. His book, The Making and Un-making of a Marine, is a personal memoir reflecting upon one Marine’s journey from duty in the Vietnam War to reintegrating back into the world after the conflict has ended. Andrew Roberts is a decorated veteran who currently serves as the Deputy Director of the NY State Division of Veterans’ Affairs. Prior to this, served in the US Army Field Artillery officer from 1997-2004. During his deployment in Iraq, he served as the American liaison for the local government of Balad Ruz, and was responsible for the security of the city as well as the reorganization and training of the local police, Iraqi National Guard units, and Iraqi Border Patrol.

Michael Otterman will join us for a post-show discussion and book signing. Mr. Otterman is a journalist and human rights consultant based in New York City. He is also the author of two books: Erasing Iraq: The Human Costs of Carnage (Pluto Press 2010, with Hil and Wilson) and American Torture: From the Cold War to Abu Ghraib and Beyond (Pluto Press/Melbourne University Publishing 2007). As a consultant, he has worked with NGOs from around the globe including Jubilee Australia and Catalyst Inc. His website is www.michaelotterman.com
